Abstract
Vitamin and mineral deficiency in general and deficiency ot vitamin A, vitamin C and iron in particular constitute a major public health problem in the country. Fruit and vegetables are low-cost and rich sources of these three micro-nutrients. Ironically, the consumption of fruit and vegetables among the poor communities is far from desirable.
