To prevent adults from becoming physically and psychologically under developed, several programes have been implemented in India to address the issue of malnutrition. However, malnutrition and its effects hove not significantly subsided. Researchers find that poor and undernourished communities, especially those of rural India, are trapped in a vicious cycle, where malnutrition is passed from generation to generation due to a number of inequities.
