Study on the Food Habits of the Rural Population

Nutrition is the most important single factor which affects the health and well-being of man. Food facts and faulty food habits are the important contributory causes for the wide prevalence of malnutrition among preschool children, expectant and nursing mothers in developing countries. Food beliefs, fads and prejudices are important social factors which are known to influence the choice of foods of many population groups in different regions of the country. Food beliefs which are positively harmful and detrimental to good nutrition have to be discouraged.

Abstract
