The Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics which made its first appearance as a quarterly publication in 1964 was the brain child of Dr. Rajammal P. Devadas, Editor-in-Chief. At that time, we did not have access to the latest Scientific information in the field of Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics. The contents of the publication were so conceived by the Editor-in-chief to meet this growing need. Later with the overwhelming response from the readers, the journal, redesignated as the Indian Journal of Nutrition and Dietetics, became a bimonthly in 1970 and subsequently a monthly journal from 1975.
