Nursing methods have evolved over times and has reached unimaginable bounds. However traditionally four nursing models have been described based on which the current nursing systems have been adopted. They are i) Team nursing ii) Functional Nursing both of which are task oriented and iii) Primary nursing and iv) Total patient care which are patient oriented. Primary nursing is one where a single nurse or two to three nurses round a clock are assigned a patient from admission till recovery. The concept involves developing a one-to-one nurse-family relationship, empowering nurses to make care plan, monitor and follow up patients assigned to them, and patient assignment based on proficiency level of the nurse.Keywords

Breast milk is nature ordained food for all newborn babies. Breast feeding offers innumerable benefits to babies. Mother’s and has economic benefits to society. Despite this many mother-baby dyads experience difficult with achieving successful breast feeding. The obstacles can range from lack of support/education. lack of motivation. medical factors. cultural issues and very rarely actual low milk supply. A supplemental nursing system (SNS). also known as a lactation aid. is a device that consists of a container and a capillary tube. It is used to provide additional nutrients to a baby whose mother has low milk supply. During breastfeeding. the end of the tube is placed alongside the mother's nipple so that both the tube and the breast are in the infant's mouth.Keywords
