President's Message

Dear Member,

I am very happy to interact with you, through this column of IWJ, as the President of your institute. I am thankful to all of you for this honor and I will do my best to live up to your expectations.

Over the years, in India, welding, as a method for joining, repairing metals, has developed and has become the most widely used technique for these applications. Particularly in the recent years the developments have been at a very fast pace. The developments are not only in the variety materials that are being welded today but are also in the processes, the techniques, the procedures that are being employed today. Our industries have successfully welded some of the most advanced materials for critical applications in the most enviable manner meeting stringent quality requirements consistently. If you have attended any of our institute's seminars you would have amply realized this.
