Genetics and Heredity as one knows it today has evolved to its current stage over decades. Today, not only inheritance but nearly all cellular processes are known to be controlled by DNA. Starting from the 1860’s with Mendel’s pea plant experiments to the current position of use of recombinant DNA technology for modifying genetic constitution has taken the untiring efforts of various stalwarts in this field. Their efforts have not only gradually revealed what inheritance is but also opened newer and wider avenues of research for modern geneticists.Keywords
