Work Participation of Women in Agriculture and Allied Activities of Dhemaji District, Assam

Rural women in Assam play a very significant role in agriculture and other allied activities. Among the rural district of Assam, Dhemaji is one of them. The rural women, besides looking after the family and performing all sorts of household activities, they actively participate in all range of agricultural activities and also perform other allied activities like animal husbandry, livestock rearing, fishing, and handloom activities to support their family and improve their economic condition. The present study had been designed to analyze the extent of their participation in such activities through primary data collected from random purposive sampling with the help of structure interview scheduled method and to some extent secondary data.
