Abstract
Aim of this study is to review the methods used to determine hemoglobin non invasively while many conventional devices and techniques are available for measurements readily in the market. This paper discusses the advantage of non invasive measurement specifically focusing on techniques like pulse oximeter, occlusion spectroscopy, opto acoustic method, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and the devices that are based on these technologies. The study also explores the frontier involving new methods such as image processing techniques which hold even better scope applied for hemoglobin detection.
