Multi Pulse AC-DC Converter Analysis for RL Load

This paper presents the analysis of AC current wave shaping AC-DC converters for effective harmonic mitigation under similar loads. The proposed converters consist of a star-connected phase shifting transformer based multipulse AC-DC converters. The proposed AC-DC converters eliminate the most dominant adjacent harmonics and also reduce the higher order harmonics; thereby, resulting in an improved power quality at AC main supply. To validate the approach, same machine indices are presented under all loads. Experimental results obtained are given to validate the model and design of the multipulse converter.
