Performance Evaluation of Evolutionary Algorithms for Digital Filter Design

In this paper, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) have been used to design digital IIR filter and the filter responses have been compared with the desired responses. Simulation results show that PSO produces a response which is closest to the desired response. Hence, PSO algorithm can be effectively used to design digital filters.

Abstract
