An Approach to Integrate Geographic Information Systems to the Proposed Smart Grid for Dhaka, Bangladesh

Smart Grid is an innovative perception which refers to the conversion of the conventional electric power grid to a modern grid. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can be used as a significantly useful tool to solve the power crisis and meet the electricity demand, through a better utility management system. The spotlight of this paper is to analyze the necessity of GIS for establishing Smart Grid in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
