In the present work, we have shown the possibility of anchoring of anthraquinone modifier motifs onto the surface of graphene through a one pot green electrochemical approach with the aid of applied potential. Then the modified interface was electrochemically characterized using cyclic voltammetry and subsequently used to explore the possibility of quantification of ascorbic acid at trace concentration levels. The sensor interface detects the ascorbic acid with a detection limit of 10 µM without any deviation in its electrochemical performance over a period of several days.
