Fuzzy Based Fault-Diagnostic Method in Three Level DC-DC Converter


 

 This paper deals with an open-circuit fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant scheme for a three-level boost converter in a PV power system. The main objective of this project is to control the converters under any fault condition and protect the battery from charging low voltage. The main problem for a more extensive implementation of solar system has been the reliability, mainly related to the power converters. The fault-tolerant strategy requires only a few components added to the original three-level boost converter, so that, under an open-circuit power switch fault, it can be partly reconfigured into a two-level boost converter ensuring battery energy supply. This control is done by the fuzzy logic controller. The fuzzy controller ensures the pulse width changes to the healthy converter switch. Experimental results verify the proposed method.
