Load Flow Studies of IEEE-14 Bus System Using Matlab

The power system analysis and design is generally done by using Load flow studies. This analysis is being executed at the state of planning, operation, control and economic scheduling. It is useful to finding out the magnitude and phase angle of load buses, active and reactive powers that are injected at the buses and active and reactive power flows over the transmission lines.

For this work the Newton Raphson method has been used for numerical analysis. The main objective of this paper is to develop a MATLAB based program for IEEE 14 bus systems to determine voltages, active and reactive power at each bus.   Firstly Y-BUS system is calculated by using MATLAB program and then IEEE 14 bus system MATLAB program is performed with the input data. This type of analysis is effective for solving the power flow problem in different powers systems which will useful to calculate the unknown quantities.
