Emotional Intelligence and Job Satisfaction among Employees of Service Sector in Pakistan


 

Emotional Intelligence and Job Satisfaction are closely related concepts in today’s competitive business environment which have drawn the interest of Research Scholars considerably. Although both concepts equallyinfluence personal and organizational life of employees equally, there are finger counted studies on both the concepts in the area of human capital development. The main objective of this study is to comprehend the association between Emotional Intelligence and Job satisfaction. The study also attempts to analyze how age, marital status, education experience of employee in a working environment influences his job satisfaction and emotional intelligence. Data pertaining to this study was gathered from 100 respondents of Southern Sui Gas Company (SSGC) Technology Communication Services (TCS), Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWS&B), and TUV Pakistan utilizing BarOn EQ-I scale. Findings were drawn by applying statistical tools, such as correlation, ANOVA, multiple regressions. The study concluded that there were ample evidences of significant relationship between job satisfaction and emotional intelligence with working experience and marital status influencing it considerably.
