Vacuum Infusion Process for Composite Vessel Construction

This study covers the construction process of boats from reinforced fibres with composites resin by using vacuum infusion and hand lay-up method. Based on the findings, vacuum infusion process gives the impression to produce higher results of composite flexural properties compared to the composites manufactured by hand lay-up method. Further, the vacuum infusion method used in this study offers the clear benefits of vacuum infusion method over hand lay-up process, which provides better comparison ratio between fibres to resin which resulting in stronger and lighter laminates. The existing composite materials can provide higher strength, low-cost alternative which is also environmentally friendly, when manufactured using vacuum infusion process.
