Development of Cosmetic Textiles Finished with Cucumis Sativus and Solanum Tuberosum Extracts


 

Textiles have been developed and used by mankind since prehistoric times. Textiles find wide applications in various other fields with the advent of new materials and technologies. One such modern textiles application is in the field of cosmetics and beauty care. On contact with the skin and human body, cosmetic textiles are designed to transfer an active substance. The types of textiles and their functions are continuously evolving, and today modern finishes can add a new dimension to a textile's function. Integrating cosmetics into textiles offers a unique platform for delivering. They achieved a easily imparting the cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients into the non-woven face mask so that the skin is slowly freshened and revitalized. Several cosmetic textile products are available in the market. In this study, eye pad made of 100% bamboo non-woven fabric finished with herbal extracts has been developed and tested for anti-microbial property and contact dermatitis and the results were found to be good.
