The present study was carried out in 2022 with the objective to analyze the awareness level of farmers towards DSR and the constraints faced by farmers in DSR. Majority of respondents (84.00 per cent) belonged to the productive young to middle-age group. Majority of rice cultivating farmers were aware of recommended depth and spacing because, at the time of sowing seed, drill machine was operated by an expert. 92 per cent farmers were aware of “seed rate” and “seed treatment”, recommended by CCS HAU, Hisar. The farmers were less or not fully aware of Integrated Weed management, which was found major constraints in DSR. Farmers told that “Limited skill of extension personnel or experts specialized on rice” is also a limitation in adoption of DSR. Farmers also feel Laser land leveling as a tedious work for Direct seeded rice. All farmers agree that DSR helps in saving water and labour.
