Radicular fractures in permanent teeth are uncommon injuries among dental traumas, being only 0.5-7% of the cases. Horizontal ischolar_main fractures can be managed endodontically or combined endodontic and surgical approach. Treatment varies according to the displacement and vitality of the fragments. This paper presents a case report of two cases of horizontal ischolar_main fracture, present between the middle and apical third of central incisors, which were managed by combined endodontic and surgical approach, while in second case it was followed by PRF placement to facilitate osteoinduction and periodontal tissue regeneration. Keywords

The aim of this article was to provide a brief overview of the characteristics, risk of transmission and infection control implications of prions in dentistry. The literature search was performed using MEDLINE. Limiting the searches to articles in English, potential relevant articles that include the keywords. Transmissible spongiform encephalitis(TSE) are a group of fatal neurodegenerative diseases that are rapidly progressive and always fatal, with no approved cure and their definite diagnosis can only be obtained at post mortem autopsy. Because there is a theoretical but real risk of transmission of prion diseases from dental instruments, as a general rule, family and medical history including the risk of prion diseases should be obtained from all patients, before all dental procedures. TSE research regarding diagnosis, transmission, treatment and inactivation of prions and other transmissible amyloidoses are ongoing, and, thus dental professionals should maintain optimal and up-to-date standards of knowledge, infection control and decontamination. Keywords

Objective: To evaluate the effect of various post materials and cements on fracture resistance of endodontically treated teeth. Material and Methods: Three post systems; custom made Ni-Cr post and core, prefabricated stainless steel and carbon fibre post with composite core and two different luting cements i.e glass ionomer and resin cements were used. Results and Conclusions: Carbon fibre post cemented with resin cements showed higher failure load than Ni-Cr and stainless steel post and resin cement performed better than glass ionomer cement, the mode of fracture was more favourable with carbon fibre post than in metallic post. Keywords
