The bandwidth of existing SONET &ATM network is pervasingly limited by electronic bottlenecks, and this limitation removed by the introduction of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems in the highest capacity backbone links. This paper focus on wavelength routed optical Networks. In this we introduced several issues concerning the design of these networks.
