Design of a CPW Proximity Feed Fractal Slot Antenna for Wireless Communication

A design of a printed fractal slot patch antenna which was fed by a microstrip transmission line for the wireless communication through satellite is presented in this paper. All the design parameters like dimensions of strip, slot, and position of antenna, thickness of substrate and selection of dielectric material are optimized for the suitable VSWR characteristics, required uplink frequency (7GHz to11.2 GHz) and gain. Antenna parameters like radiation pattern, input impedance, current distribution and gain are obtained by simulating the designed antenna using IE3D v-14.65 Zeland simulation Software.
