In this paper the work has been conceived, having studied the difficulties in regulating traffic and preventing accidents. Our survey in regards with several case studies revealed the facts that mostly, over speeding and exceeding the speed limits in specific accident prone zones or areas near hospitals, schools etc is the main cause for accidents.

We have speed limits for the above mentioned specific accident prone zones. Governing the speed of the vehicles is a tedious process. Now a day’s vehicles are allowed to exceed the speed limit and then the law catches them to pay for it, though we know prevention is better than cure. Hence this paper comes up with an idea of controlling the speed of the automobiles automatically when it enters these specific zones. Here we use RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology which works on radio frequency waves to transmit the information (speed limit) from the transmitter fixed at the specific zones’ lamp post, road separators etc., to the receiver in the vehicle. This information is fed to the microprocessor which is coupled with the stepper motor. The stepper motor turns according to the program fed and control the pre-throttle valve which is proposed to place before the actual throttle valve.
