Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) is gaining popularity both in the public and private sectors. Organizations regard it as an opportunity to upgrade their IT service quality, improve business performance and gain competitive advantages. However, many ITSM implementation projects failed. And with the emergence of Cloud computing, Enterprises expect IT to provide good quality services an also ensure compliance with all policies that are in place and should be able to scale up in view of the user’s demand. From the view of an IT service provider, the IT services are composed of heterogeneous networks as well as different system and application technologies making it more likely that different management tools or even complete management systems are responsible for various management related aspects and are basically based on traditional frameworks such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). In order, to incorporate cloud computing model into its existing system it quite important to re-assess the system. The focus of this study is on Information Technology Service Management and is to introduce the relevant concepts and to discuss the importance of IT Service Management in Cloud Computing. In this study, we basically review the process of implementing IT Management using the different frameworks. Secondly, we focus on what all impacts are needed to be considered for ITIL Service Strategy process implementation in cloud computing. Organizations should take proper measures in overcoming these barriers to ensure successful implementation of ITSM.
