The aim of the present topic is to emphasize the role of wireless sensor networks in agriculture management. Agriculture plays a vital role in India’s economy. Climate change and agriculture are interrelated processes. The drastic changes in climatic conditions have an impact on agriculture which indirectly affects Indian economy. Hence it is necessary to develop a technology which monitors climatic conditions like temperature, humidity, soil type and its moisture content. Among the existing technologies for agriculture monitoring, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are the effective ones to collect and process data in the agricultural sector with low-cost and low-energy consumption. With the continuous monitoring of environmental factors, the farmers or the agriculture experts can observe and analyses the optimal environment conditions for better productivity.
