Abstract
Multiport DC-DC converters have attracted special interest in applications where multiple power sources are used. It interfaces more than one source with the load through a multi winding transformer. Various topologies of multiport DC-DC converter have been reported in the literature but this paper presents the design and analysis of a triple port DC-DC converter which interfaces a main DC source and energy storage element with the load. It is possible to connect multiple sources with different voltage levels, using triple-active-bridge (TAB) converter which cannot be done with dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter. The main drawback of DAB is, it cannot handle wide range of input voltage. Therefore to overcome this disadvantage a three port triple-active-bridge (TAB) DC-DC converter for renewable energy is proposed. This paper focuses on the phase shift modulation strategy for the proposed multiport topology. Circuit simulation results are included to verify the proposed converter topology using PSPICE software and the output voltage ripples were calculated.
