People suffering from various kinds of diseases such as Lou Gehrig’s, Muscular dystrophy or pseudocoma are unable to communicate because most of their voluntary muscles are inhibited. However, they are still conscious and have clear thought. Often, the only muscles that are still under voluntary control are those responsible for eye movements. This paper describes an eye-control method, based on Electro Ocular Graph (EOG), for guiding and controlling a wheelchair for disabled people; the control is actually affected by eye movements within the socket. The acquired EOG signals are amplified, filtered and sent into the microcontroller. The microcontroller interprets the voltage levels and makes the relays to switch on and off.
