The discovery of antibiotics was a turning point in the history of mankind, improving healthcare and increasing life expectancy around the globe. However, the rising number of cases of antibiotic-resistant infections paints a concerning future. Thus, it is essential to understand and explore alternatives and implement policies for their safe usage. This note summarizes the upsurge in antimicrobial resistance in recent years and the feasibility of phage therapy as an alternative in India.Full Text
