Reduced glutathione (GSH) is a biologically important component that plays a critical role in antioxidant activity. Praseodymium(III) complex with GSH was synthesized and the complex formed was characterized by FTIR, XRD, TGA and SEM analysis. Infrared studies provided information on the mode of complexation between the lanthanide metal ion and GSH. XRD and TEM analysis showed the nanocrystalline phase and irregular morphology of the complex. TGA thermogram indicated good thermal stability of the complex. The in vitro antioxidant and antibacterial properties of the complex were studied. The results suggest that the praseodymium(III) complex possesses antioxidant and antibacterial activity.Keywords
