This study was conducted in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh for identifying the constraints faced by potato growers. Six villages were selected randomly from the potato growing areas and 20 farmers were selected from each village, thus, 120 respondents were included in the sample for investigation. Results showed that important constraints as perceived by the respondents were improper technical knowledge about bio-agents and bio-insecticides, lack of knowledge about light trap and pheromone trap, high cost of seed, fertilizers and insecticides etc. This needs attention of the KVK and State Deptt. for delineating the constraints which in turn would enhance the adoption of the IPM practicing leading to the green and clean agriculture. Keywords

Management of eco-friendly farming is focussed on the whole farm system and its interactions with climate, environment, social as well as economic conditions, rather than considering the farm as comprises of individual enterprises. The study was conducted in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh with 120 vegetable growers of 10 villages which were selected randomly. All the selected farmers were interviewed personally using a well-structured interview schedule. For analysis of collected data, descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) and analytical statistics in this study was used. The finding reveals that the higher percentage of vegetable growers (64.17%) had low knowledge of technology. This may be due to lack of awareness of scientific technology and lack of exposure of about improved technologies in agriculture. Majority 59.16 per cent of vegetables growers were in the category of favourable attitude towards use of eco-friendly management practices. Keywords

The study was conducted to assess the knowledge level of potato growers in Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. The productivity level of potato is observed to be low in Madhya Pradesh due to various reasons among these are climate and adoptability of technologies. Potato production has played a vital role in increasing vegetable production of the country with 25.6 per cent share in total vegetable production during 2002-03. The contribution of the country in world potato pool has increased from 6.4 per cent to 7.8 per cent during last decade. Potato utilization has become more diverse with processed products commanding a large share of the potato market. Majority of the potato growers had complete knowledge about improve varieties. The data also indicated that majority of the potato growers were aware about recommended spacing (59.17%), disease management (56.67%) and selection of field (52.5%).Keywords
