Abstract
In an effort to derive the trend of real wages of operatives employed in cotton textile mills in Bombay City and Island for the years 1900 to 1951, the author had used a working-class cost of living for Bombay City based on a nine-year overlap period between the official working-class cost of living index and a partial index constructed from retail and wholesale prices of certain important commodities.
