Abstract

Groundwater destruction of local water system, construction of dam etc. lead to the reduction of the groundwater recharge. Because of global warming groundwater reduction takes place as evapo-transpiration needs are higher when temperature goes up. In the mined areas groundwater recharge system gets disturbed. In India according to the report of the national commission on integrated water resources development (GOI September 1999), the total replenishable groundwater is estimated as 432 Billion Cubic Meter (BCM). Out of this i.e. 71 BCM (15%) is utilized for domestic, industrial and other uses and 325 BCM for irrigation.

Abstract

A potentiometric titration technique has been used to determine the stability constants for the various complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) with Ascorbic acid, Pyridoxine.HCl (L2)as secondary ligand and selected amino acids (L1) as primary ligands.Ternary complexes of amino acids are formed in a stepwise mechanism, where by (A) binds to Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), followed by interaction with ligand (L), whereas the ligands form ternary complexes through a simultaneous mechanism. The formation constants of the complexes were determined at room temperature and ionic strength 0.1 M NaClO₄. The relative stabilities of the ternary complexes are compared with those of the corresponding binary complexes in terms of ΔlogK values. The concentration distributions of the complexes were evaluated.

Abstract

In the present paper, we reported the adsorption phenomenon of crystal violet on the surface of sand obtained from river Krishna at karnool district. The effect of variation in concentration, temperature, pH etc have been studied. The applicability of Langmuir, Freundlich, Redlich Peterson and Dubinin Raduskevich is determined.

Abstract

This study is aimed to determine the analytical parameters of nine plant extracts namely Black Night, Black Wood, Cyndon Daclyton, Caesal Piniaceae, Enicostema Axiuae, Five Leaved Cheast, Milk Hedge, Prickly Poppy and Wood Apple. The analytical parameters that were studied are total ash, Alcohol soluble extractive, water soluble extractive, ether soluble extractives, fatty acid, tannins, vitamin 'C', Acid value, peroxide value, saponification value and carbohydrate. Qualitative analysis was also performed and the elements that were determined are Nitrogen, Sulphur, Carbohydrate, Halogen and Vitamin 'C'.
