Abstract

Sexuality is one of the most important aspects of life. sexuality permeates the psychological and spiritual areas of a person's life. A decisive role in the formation of a family and if sexuality was not understood properly can destroy the families and the intimate relationship that exist between the members of family. The great psychologist Sigmund Freud observed that until human beings learn to control their sexual instincts, social life is impossible. sexual relations are only procreative but also reactive, they help to promote human fulfillment and satisfaction.

Abstract

An interventional study was conducted to identify the effect of foot reflexology on pain among cancer patients in Oncology Ward of Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. Quasi experimental pre-test and post-test control group design was adopted for the present study. A purposive sample of 26 patients were selected and assigned randomly to experimental and control group. The baseline data was collected from the patient's record and pain intensity was assessed by using Numerical Pain Rating Scale. Foot reflexology was given for 30 minutes to the experimental group. The pain intensity score was assessed for both groups after foot reflexology. The results revealed that there is a significant reduction in pain after foot reflexology in the experimental group.

Abstract

A study was undertaken to educate the mothers of under fives on first aid measures for home accidents at Naduarasur, Coimbatore. One Group Pre test, Post test design was adopted for the study. A convenient sample of 30 mothers who consented for the study was selected. Pretest was conducted to assess the knowledge by using the structured questionnaire which consisted of thirty three set of questions. After the knowledge assessment one to one education was given regarding first aid measures for home accidents. post test knowledge was assessed using the same questionnaire. The results revealed that in the pre test inadequate knowledge prevailed and after education there was an improvement in knowledge on first aid measures for home accidents.
