Abstract

The practices of breast feeding and weaning prevailing in the community play a crucial role in deciding the health of a child. The present community based cross sectional study was conducted to study the prevailing practices of infant feeding. Being a traditional with low literacy levelcommunity, the comparison of prevailing practices according to the religion, caste and education was made to target the group with Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activity to bring out favourable practices for proper growth and development of the children. The finding suggested that 6-12 months was the usual practice of breast feeding and caste and education of mothers were not associated with it. Time of imitating top feed was 5 months in majority and cow milk was the most preferred one by more than 80 per cent mothers; statistical significance was seen by caste but not with the education. Time of initiation of semi solid was also 5 months in majority and caste was seen to be statistically associated. Rice and dal were the commonly practiced in semi solid. Education of mother was seen to be in practice of commercial food like cerelac also.

Abstract

Background : Child is like a white paper. Which you can draw on it, his personality and behaviour. A child is accepting any outer influence and information affecting his character in the future. Since any behaviour or action the child sees may affect his personality. Television is what attracts the children most and shapes their behaviour. Usually most of the shows that children's watch is cartoons. Cartoons are one of the daily habit for our children, but cartoon effects the child positively and negatively both. So to know that how a cartoon affects children, researchers choose this topic for research.

Aim : The present study aimed to know positive and negative effects of cartoon on children.

Methodology: A survey based descriptive research design was used to main aim of study.

Location: This study was conducted at area of Surajkund and Madhopur in Gorakhpur city of U.P.

Sample size : For these study 100 parents of children in the age group of 3-6 years was selected. Result: This study revealed that children are highly influenced by the cartoons and parents are not satisfied by positive effects of cartoons on their children.

Abstract

India has always been known as the land that port yard, cultural and traditional vibrancy through its conventional arts and crafts. Every region in India has its own style which is very ethnic and simple and yet colourful and vibrant enough to speaks volumes about the rich heritage. Colour design has been used to enhance the intrinsic beauty of textile from ancient time. It is believed that ornamentation by dyeing and printing developed earlier that the use of clothing itself. Design is the knowledgeable selection and application of the basic art element i.e. line, shape, colour and texture to produce a unified expressive visual statement. Screen printing is a versatile process for design applications on textiles. The present study was conducted to fusion of batik printing and screen printing on Khadi saree using geometrical motifs.10 geometrical motifs were identified for application in sarees and create with self. Created motifs were got evaluated from 100 respondents and 4 top ranked motifs were selected. 4 designs were finally selected for application of saree which were placed with all possible variations. The final printed sarees were again shown in front of same respondents in the way of colour combination, placement of motifs, cost, purchasing preference and overall appearance. 5 point scale was used for grading. For saree no. 1 overall appearance (8.2) was most preferred followed by colour combination (3.8) and placement of design (1.6).for saree no. 2 colour combination (8) was most preferred followed by overall appearance (3.2).
