Abstract

Safed musli (Chlorophytum borivilanum) is an important medicinal plant of family Liliaceae. Dry ischolar_mains are known as safed musli which contain a drug. It is used against diuretic, nutritive, urinary tract infection, general debility, impotency etc. It is considered as wonder drug in Indian systems of medicines due to its aphrodisiac and natural sex tonic properties. It is also used to cure weakness and male sterility. It is a supplementary therapy for blood purification, nervous disorders and some gynecological problems. Such commercially important plant is infected by fungal diseases viz., responsible for decrease in yield; hence survey of fungal diseases was undertaken, which illustrates the different diseases of Safed musli.

Abstract

The plant Adhatoda zeylanica Medic is the member of family Acanthaceae. It is in use since thousands of years in India traditional as well as modern systems of Medicines. Two species of this plant are medicinally important viz., Adhatoda beddomei and Adhatoda zeylanica. Adhatoda beddomei species is found in Kerla and Adhatoda zeylanica is growing throughout India. The leaves of these plants are used either alone or in combination with other drugs for preparation of expectorant. It is used as remedy for cough, rheumatism and many disorders. Hence to know the tremendous uses of this plant over many diseases and disorders are considered to study.
