The present study is based on the citations cited in Doctoral dissertations of Engineering and Technology awarded by various general universities of Karnataka. This paper comprising 541 journals containing 7467 citations appeared in 137 Doctoral dissertations awarded during 1961-2008. It was observed that more than 67 percent of the theses were awarded by the Bangalore Unicweairy and University of Mysore. It also noted that majority of (85, 62.04%) doctoral dissertations were awarded in between 1996-2008 and more number of Ph.D degree awarded in Civil discipline. Further the characteristics of references cited by the engineers and technologists in their Ph.D theses were studied. The results and discussions with regard to bibliographic form, languages, country, subject, authorship pattern and ranking of journals are presented in different tables and figure with some well known statistical and Bibliometric parameters have been applied for the study. Keywords

The objective of this article is to analyse and compare the scientometric parameters of journal publications of 2 top Indian chemical research institutes - Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) and National Chemical Laboratory (NCL). We have compared the number of journal publications and citations for these 2 institutions. The bibliometric parameters including number of articles, number of citations received, average impact factor, international collaborations, and authorship pattern have been used to carry out the analysis of the research contributions made by the scientists of both institutes. The data set was collected from the Web of Science (WoS) database for the period of 19 years (2000-2018). The data reveals that IICT published 10,152 articles in 998 journals with 1,50,023 citations and NCL published 8361 articles in 1049 journals with 1,41,754 citations. Most of the papers are published in peer-reviewed international journals having high impact factor. The average number of citations received per paper is 14.77 for IICT and 16.95 for NCL.Keywords

The objective of this article is to analyze and compare the scientometric parameters of the journal publications of 2 top Indian medical research institutes – All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER). The data set was collected using the Web of Science (WoS) database for 20 years (2000-2019). We have compared the number of journal publications and citations for these two institutions. We used various bibliometric parameters like the number of articles, the number of citations received, average impact factor, international collaborations, and authorship pattern to analyze the research contributions made by the authors of both institutes. The data reveals that AIIMS published 20,550 articles in 2382 unique journals with 1,48,388 citations, and PGIMER published 13,142 articles in 1695 unique journals with 69,659 citations. Most of the articles were published in peer-reviewed international journals having a high impact factor. The average number of citations received per article is 7.22 for AIIMS and 5.30 for Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).Keywords
