Can e-Resources Replace Print Resources? : Faculty Perception

The University libraries have positioned themselves as the main support for intellectual development. This paper discusses faculty members’ perceptions on the use of print versus electronic resources. A survey of 134 faculty members of three agricultural universities of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh was conducted. It was discovered that a majority of these teachers had good perceptions on the use of electronic resources. However, majority of faculty members prefer resources in both electronic as well as print format. At the same time faculty members also feel that print resources hold a certain cachet as many faculty members are in a dilemma regarding the replacement of print information resources.
