Venkatraja 2023-03-30 2023-03-30 14 A Study of SHG as a Model of Social Entrepreneurship in Mayurbhanj District, Odisha https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/sdm/article/view/222242 “Social entrepreneurship” refers to the process of combining resources and opportunity to address social problems. In order to combat poverty, marginalization, environmental degradation and the accompanying loss of personal integrity, social entrepreneurs focus on altering the institutions and behaviors that support these issues. They do this by creating business that is either for-profit or non-profit, but in both cases, their principal objective is to achieve long-lasting systemic change. Self Help Group (SHG) is an example of a strategy that tries to promote social entrepreneurship in rural area. SHGs encourage its members and assist social entrepreneurs in overcoming obstacles. SHG plays a crucial role in helping impoverished women to achieve a stable lifestyle. It is steadily proving to be among the most effective ways to fight poverty in rural India. Thus, there is no question that SHGs provide a forum for the promotion of social entrepreneurs. SHGs thus undoubtedly serve as a platform for the promotion of social entrepreneurs. In this light, the researcher has made an effort to investigate the elements that motivate women to join SHGs as a kind of social entrepreneurship in Myurbhanj district of Odisha. Discriminant analysis has been used to find out the influencing factors affecting women to get associated with SHG as means of social entrepreneurship. The study identified “Employment generation”, “Gender Inequality” and “Social value creation” as the factors influencing women to be associated with SHG. Sitaram Das Shibashish Sahu 2023-03-30 2023-03-30 14 Entrepreneurship and Digital Economy – A Bibliometric Analysis https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/sdm/article/view/222250 The advent of the digital economy has led to the emergence of entrepreneurship which is significantly different from the existing entrepreneurial ecosystem. For this purpose, we used SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique) to generate minority class cases to rectify class imbalance problems and classification model logistic regression function to further classify the cases into majority class and minority class. KNIME (Konstanz Information Miner) and R Studio were used, as Integrated Development Environments (IDE), to develop the model. The results were quite encouraging with more than 90% accuracy levels for both training and testing datasets. The model was tested with different train-to-test ratios. The model and the results of the study can be used by firms and individuals involved in capital markets to predict the subscription status of a public offering. Further, there is ample scope to improvise the model by using different sets of variables and by applying different machine learning algorithms. Ellur Anand Ganes Pandya 2023-03-30 2023-03-30 14 Role of Women in Commercial Driving – A Constructivist Grounded Theory (CGT) Approach https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/sdm/article/view/222255 Women who work in fields where men predominately do so face particular difficulties and employ particular coping skills that have an impact on their motivation and retention in these fields. This study investigates women’s experiences working in male-dominated sectors to comprehend the challenges they encounter and uncover coping mechanisms that allow them to continue their career paths. A lot of women who first favour jobs with a male preponderance quickly transition to female- or gender-balanced career pathways. Plans to motivate women in sectors with a male preponderance can be made easier by understanding their experiences. This exploratory qualitative study was carried out by the researchers utilizing a constructivist grounded theory methodology. They interviewed 60 well-chosen professional drivers in-depth and unstructured. To examine the data, they employ a constructivist grounded theory methodology. The authors contend that discrimination and sexism are mostly caused by unfair practices that women must deal with. These behaviours include disregarding the special physical traits of women and the necessity of work-life balance. Female resilience includes using femininity, accepting masculinity, mentoring, and intrinsic motivators. This study adds to the corpus of information on better retaining and integrating women in environments where men predominate. R.C Banumathi D. Mathur 2023-03-30 2023-03-30 14 Testing of Market Efficiency of BSE GREENEX: An Empirical Analysis https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/sdm/article/view/222257 According to the United Nations Principle for Responsible Investment, an investment in a non-ESG compliance company has 28% higher risk per annum as compared to an ESG compliance company. Such company has a positive relationship with the financial performance and the investors cannot outperform these stocks as the information about sustainability compliance is readily available in the market. This concept is of the Efficient Market Hypothesis. Employing a quantitative research design, this study considered 17 companies of BSE Green Index that has considerable ESG scores and extracted their daily, weekly and monthly data to examine and understand its stock return movement and to test whether it follows the Efficient Market Hypothesis. This study makes use of the various statistical tools such as the Run Test, Auto-correlation Function and the Unit Root Test. Summarising the results of run test, Auto-correlation Function and two-unit root test i.e., Augmented Dickey Fuller test and Philips-Perron, it statistically confirmed the findings that the daily, weekly and monthly stock return series of the 17 stocks of BSE Green Index do not obey the ‘Random Walk Hypothesis’ which is the key findings of the study and hence rejects all the three hypotheses of the study. Backing the empirical findings of this study, it would be rational to state that the concept of the Efficient Market Hypothesis does not hold good in the BSE Green Index of the Indian Stock Market and this finding would be very imperative to the investors concerned about their investment decisions with regard to sustainability practices. Prasid Gurung Soumitra Sarkar 2023-03-30 2023-03-30 14 Well-being and Subjective Happiness of B-school Faculty during Covid-19 - A Special Reference to Indian B-Schools https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/sdm/article/view/222258 The traditional education industry has undergone rapid changes to keep learning alive and unaffected during the pandemic. There was a lot of uncertainty and fear among the teachers as they had to change the pedagogy to suit the current requirements. Many studies in the past revealed that the performance of teachers is dependent on their well-being. This is an empirical study wherein primary details were collected from B-school faculty working in various B-schools in India. To analyze the effect of well-being on subjective happiness two instruments were used. Employee well-being was measured using a scale consisting of 33 items and four core dimensions such as psychological, social, workplace, and subjective well-being items. A self-evaluation scale on The Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS) was used to measure the subjective happiness of B-school faculty. The questionnaire was administered to B-school faculty. The analysis revealed that psychological, social, and subjective well-being had an effect on the happiness of B-school faculty, but workplace well-being did not have any effect on subjective happiness as most of the B-school faculty were trying to sustain the pandemic and get adjusted to the rapid changes. They did not have many expectations from their employer as they were amidst fear and uncertainty. Rekha Aranha Avil Saldanha Arti Arunkumar 2023-03-30 2023-03-30 14 Free Market: The History of an Idea https://www.i-scholar.in/index.php/sdm/article/view/222259 No Abstract. Ishfaq Ahmad Thaku 2023-03-30 2023-03-30 14
