Entrepreneurship is being presented as highly effective instrument for economic development of nations and hence lies at the core of any economy be that developing or developed. Considering present day scenario of high complexity, dynamism, entrepreneurship alone canjust not help. It has to be used along with strategic management to get the most out of the opportunities available. This leads to the creation of a new field of study strategic entrepreneurship. It not only helps firms to create wealth, enhance shareholders value, provide it with a sustainable competitive advantage but also leads to the economic development of the nations. This paper aims to study strategic entrepreneurship in light of the various studies that have been conducted so far since the inception of this concept in the year 2001. The review suggests that most of the studies in this domain have been mostly conducted in developed nations and least in developing and under developed ones. Also most of the studies have not been able to take any complete stand on what constitutes it and what not. But most important ones considered include: entrepreneurial culture, entrepreneurial mind set, entrepreneurial leadership and strategic management of resources.
