Human populations are dynamic. Population growth rates vary a lot over time and space, and are determined by rates of birth and death and migratory flows, all of which in turn depend on numerous socio-economic factors interacting in different ways, never easy to identify and quantify (Krishnaji and James, 2005). Although, population growth is a simple function of fertility, mortality and migration but in the case of population growth of a religious group, conversion can also play an important role. The current paper reviews the population growth of major religious groups Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Bodh and Jain.
