Modern educational reforms result in higher demands on the quality of medical staff training, particularly in the field of medical diagnostics. The article states the necessity of changes in training and educational resources aimed at the development of subject-related and practical skills of medical students. For this purpose, the study considers the conditions of implementation and effectiveness of the competency-based approach when teaching physics both through lectures and seminars to medical students in the Republic of Kazakhstan (RK). The article proposes an approach, conceptually new for the theory of education, which allows addressing the priorities in the formation of the professional diagnosis skills of medical students using various kinds of medical equipment.
