Malnutrition among children poses a great challenge to national development. Among the many steps taken to ameliorate malnutrition, developing acceptable high protein recipes at minimal cost is a crucial need. In recent years, cultivation of sunflower has emerged as a promising effort and sunflower meal offers new source of protein of good biological quality. Chandrasekhar and Kanjana, have reported about the potentials of sunflower in combination with maize or roasted Bengal gram flour for human dietaries. In the present investigation an attempt has been made to further enhance the nutritive value of the combination of sunflower meal, maize and roasted Bengal gram flour with sesame meal and test its efficacy in promoting growth and retaining nitrogen in school children.- Financing Agriculture
