In this paper, some fixed point theorems in Generalized (G) metric space have been converted using Generalized M (GM)-fuzzy metric space. In Paper [8], the expansive mapping has been defined using generalized metric space. Here, at first the expansive mapping has been defined using generalized M-fuzzy metric space and later generalized some lemma’s from generalized metric space to Generalized-M fuzzy metric space. Using these lemma’s and the new definition of expansive mapping the generalized fixed point theorems are proved under some contractive conditions.

India, the largest producer of milk, wheat and fruits, and the second largest producer of rice, pulses and vegetables in the world, with 194 million undernourished people, tops the ‘world hunger list’ as well. It is astonishing to find that the nation has failed to achieve both Millennium Development Goal (MDG) and World Food Summit (WFS) targets, despite consistently high agricultural production over the years and a promisingly higher rate of economic growth. This failure is inconceivable in the sense that the country still has a farming population of around 54% of the total, and has made great strides towards achieving ‘self-sufficiency’ in food production.Full Text

Quantifying subjective well being or happiness has always been intriguing and with the advent of Gross National Happiness (GNH) index of Bhutan and World Happiness Report (WHR) by UN, it has become all the way more of a global issue. This study stratifies countries into Happiness Strata in a Global Happiness Map using the WHR 2018 indices, only to find that India is among the 42 Unhappy Nations of the world. The Nordic (Western European) countries seem to top the happiness charts with Denmark being consistently among the top five. The paper also discusses what India can learn and adopt from Denmark.Keywords

Food and nutrition security (FNS) being a key priority area in development planning, requires good predictive models for holistic analysis of the concept, representative of the multi-dimensional linkages associated with the complex phenomenon. The present article discusses the conceptual dissents, and the popular proxy measures from which FNS is being most often inferred in practice. We suggest possible integration of the measures within the scope of a multifaceted framework in light of the limitations and potential risks in using them in isolation.Keywords

The present study aims at estimating the impact of minimum support price (MSP) on rice cultivation using a quasi-experiment-based robust research design, propensity score matching applied to household survey-based disaggregated primary data. Results indicate that MSP significantly impacts price realization in the disposal of paddy. Further, MSP has a fair influence on the marketed surplus of rice and the acreage devoted to the rice crop. The study finds important correlations between farmers’ decisions to avail MSP in rice. It has important policy implications from an implementation perspective to make it more effective to better off the paddy growers throughout the country.Keywords
