Abstract

With the recent advancements in technology, it is expected that the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) will be used in most of the commonly used applications which include consumer electronics, PC peripherals, home automation, home security, personal healthcare, toys and games, intelligent agriculture. In this paper, we explore the applicability of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) in a real life context such as for modern agricultural approach to monitor and control soil moisture, soil fertility level and pest growth. Based on a detailed exploration of information needs, we design a series of precise use cases, provide system design, implementation and present a simulation including an interface to wireless sensors for amateurs. We suggest automation of environment monitoring and control, and of tasks that would demand too much time and resources if manually done. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consisting of nodes with limited power are deployed to gather useful information from the field. In WSNs it is critical to collect the information in an energy efficient manner. Using Ant Colony Algorithm we try to make the aggregation energy efficient.

Abstract

This paper describes idea of centralized compilation. Virtual compiler is a network-based program which integrates various types of compiler and programming environments under one roof. Based on server and client technology, the idea is to set up various compilers at the server, which can be used to compile data to all the client devices within the network. The server will include the compiler of many languages. The compiler can be anything from:

• Java 
• C/C++

The programmer on the client machine will have an editor on which he will write the programs and will compile it and execute it. There will be no need to install various compilers on different machines. Also there will be a database on the server side for maintaining transaction log and user authentication. The output will be displayed in the same editor window.

Thus the objective of the Virtual Compiler is a method by which shared resource can be arranged in a controlled and reliable manner. The clients are operated in a centralized manner from the server.

Abstract

This article gives an overview of trends in optical networking technologies. Today (D) WDM is able to offer large Bandwidth Interconnections and to date is mainly deployed on a Point-to-Point basis. To add more networking functionalities to the Optical layer, three classes of operation methods are presented and evaluated: Circuit Switching, Optical Packet Switching (OPS) and Optical Burst Switching (OBS).

Abstract

Watermarking is the process of embedding data into multimedia element as an image, audio or video file for the purpose of authentication. This embedded data can later be extracted from or detected in the multimedia for security purposes. In this paper, we propose a watermarking based on combining DWT-DCT-SVD. In this technique DWT is used to decompose the color images into various frequency and time scale. Block DCT is applied on DWT coefficients of various frequencies to provide high level of robustness. DCT transformed blocks of size 4x4 are further decomposed using dual SVD technique to get singular values in which watermark is to be hidden. This method of watermarking is found to be robust and the visual watermark is recoverable without any reasonable amount of distortion even in case of attacks. Thus the method can be used to embed copyright information in the form of a visual watermark. Algorithm is tested using Lena test image in RGB and YIQ color model.
