This research work has been conducted in the field of human resource management (HRM), more specifically on firm performance. The aim of the study is to show the relationship between HRM practices and firms performance of pharmaceutical industry in Bangladesh. It is assumed that HRM practices could positively influence profitability and growth and depressingly bias employee turnover. The primary data were collected using structured questionnaire sent to employees of different departments having different job status of some pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh. Secondary data were collected from annual reports of the selected companies for measuring and finding out their performance. The paper has tried to elucidate the role of HRM practices and to test the relationship among the variables indicating that HRD has a relationship with performance like inventory turnover, total assets turnover, net profit margin, gross profit margin etc. It is found that HRM practices enhance performance of the pharmaceutical firms in Bangladesh.Keywords

This paper examines factors which stimulate in taking decision on entrepreneurship aiming to explore the responsible ones to create the necessary intention. This is an empirical and quantitative study conducted on some university students of Bangladesh. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed to the students who had completed the course "Entrepreneurship Development and Small Business Management" from different universities of Dhaka City in Bangladesh. A total of 261 students completed the questionnaire properly. The results indicate that desire for independence highly influences the entrepreneurial intention of the students. Parallel factors, e.g., locus of control and proactiveness also influence entrepreneurial intention and are stronger than the other factors like risk taking propensity and entrepreneurship education. The work suggests that psychological characteristics are crucial in developing entrepreneurial personality. Additionally, it stresses on necessity of entrepreneurship education having proper psychological characteristics to create intention of entrepreneurship among the students.Keywords

The term 'Business Success' has been conceptualised in many ways. It is related with achieving superior market share, business equilibrium, and positive trend of earning profit. The main aim of this study is to examine and compare the factors influencing business success. It is comparative analysis between the demographic and HRM related factors. The present article is a survey based research. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed among employees of the garments industries. The data have been analysed using SPSS software. One-way ANOVA test along with a model has been developed in order to show and test the relationship among demographic factors and HRM related factors and the business success in this study. The results revealed that individually there is a positive and strong significant influence of educational ability and experience of the employees (demographic factors); job definition, recruitment&selection, performance appraisal, career planning, participation, and compensation (HRM related factors) on businesses success.Keywords

The present study adopted a quantitative research approach by nature. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of work-related factors on the satisfaction and commitment of the employee in the insurance companies in Bangladesh. Besides, it is aimed at exploring to what extent these employees were satisfied and committed to their organization with different dimensions of work-related factors. Although, this is an empirical study, both primary and secondary data have been required. Books, published journals have been used as the sources of secondary data, and questionnaires have been used as the tools for collecting the primary data from the employees of insurance companies in Bangladesh. About 300 questionnaires were distributed; 260 questionnaires statistically usable questionnaires were received. Stepwise descriptive statistics, multiple regression analyses were used to confirm the research hypotheses. The findings of the study indicated that employees’ job security and training & development are the most influential factor in creating job satisfaction. But training and development have a negative influence on the organisational continuance commitment in the insurance companies of Bangladesh. It is suggested in this study that rigorous training and development shall be focused on the effective functioning of the insurance companies.Keywords
