Classification is one of the most important methods in data mining. These methods are used to extract meaningful information from large database which can be effectively used for predicting unknown class. The classifier based on decision tree is called Mixed Mode Data Base Miner (MMDBM) which is tested with different sorting techniques (merge sort, quick sort, radix sort) to compare the processing time to SLIQ classifier. In this paper, we carried out a comparative study on MMDBM classifier incorporating various sorting procedure by using Blood Pressure (BP) database, and finally the proposed method MMDBM classifier is one of the best classifiers among SLIQ supervised learning method. This proposed method achieved less processing time and higher rate of accuracy.Keywords

Late Archaean Supracrustals of the Goa-Dharwar sector (GDS) are composed of a thick sequence of greywacke sequence with narrow intercalations of quartzite, BIF and carbonates. Mafic volcanics occupy the base of the sequence. The greywackes are predominantly tuffacious containing chlorite-sericite and hornblende. Arkosic variations containing biotite dominate the western part of the sector. Fine-grained variations occur as isolated narrow lenses within other types of greywackes. The conglomeratic greywackes are localized along the western and the eastern margins of the sector. All of the greywackes are all typically immature containing coarser clasts of mostly plagioclase (18-23%) and quartz (32-34%). Lithic fragments of felsic volcanic rocks are common. The matrix is dominated by mafic material. Biotite and amphibole are related to metamorphic recrystallization. Chlorite, sericite, epidote, carbonate and chert are products of the interplay of diagenesis and low-grade metamorphism. Fe-Ti oxide, sphene, apatite and zircon are usual accessories. But for slight enrichment in K2O, the major element chemistry of the GDS greywackes is similar to the chemistry of Late Archaean greywackes. They also compare in respect of V, Co, Hf contents, K2O/Na2O, SiO2/Al2O3, Na2O/Al2O3, Ba/Rb, Th/U, La/Th, Sm/Nd ratios, steep REE patterns with distinct LREE enrichment and HREE depletion. The GDS greywackes however are distinctly enriched in Rb, Ba, Sr, Th, U, Cu, Zr, Ce/Ce* and depleted in Cr, Ni, and Zn. The conglomeritic and biotite bearing verities contain considerable proportions of clasts derived from the basement tonalitic/granitic terrain. The common tuffacious greywackes containing hornblende and biotite-sericite however include only volcanic clasts and bear evidence of derivation from submarine weathering of predominantly felsic volcanics erupted on a large scale to form a magmatic arc in the later stages of geosynclinal deposition. Geochemical data suggest that the GDS greywackes were laid down in progressively changing basin geometry from a passive to active continental margin and island arc setting.Keywords

Four point bend specimen is one of the most important specimens of the fracture mechanics because it can produce mixed mode I and II. Therefore, computation of stress intensity factors (SIF) in this specimen is of practical interest. Several relations have been suggested that no one of them completely has considered the effects of the loading point and crack geometry. In this paper mixed mode stress intensity factors of the bend specimen are computed by finite element method (FEM) and after validating by comparing with the available results in the literature, the results will be assessed to determine the effects of different crack location and load distances from the middle of the specimen. Finally, two new coefficients comprising these effects are introduced.Keywords

predictive method for remaining component lifetime evaluation consists in integrating the crack growth law of the material considered in a finite element step-by-step process. So, as part of a linear elastic fracture mechanics analysis, the determination of the stress intensity factor distribution is a crucial point. Two-dimensional, elastic–plastic finite element analyses of Edge-crack geometries with different crack length were conducted to study fracture parameters and to calculate J integral values under plane-stress conditions. Mesh refinement for the geometries were studied. Numerical implementation and mesh refinement issues to maintain path independent J-values are explored .The present work considers mode-I, linear-elastic response of cracked finite FML subjected to monotonic loading. The results obtained by these various means on cracked FML are in good agreement with those available analytical solutions. Nevertheless, since the knowledge of the field near the crack tip is not required in the energetic method, the J-integral calculations seem to be a good technique to deal with the fatigue growth of general cracks.Keywords

For the past three decades, Fibres are utilized in various fields of Engineering for varying purposes. This study aims at investigating the influence and performance of fibre orientations on Basalt Fibre Reinforced Polymer (BFRP) composite retrofitted RCC piles under lateral loads. The lateral performances of the piles are evaluated based on the load bearing capacity of the piles with same cross sections and reinforcements. M30 grade concrete was designed to cast 27 nos of RCC piles. After 28 days water curing, the piles were scheduled for test based on fibre orientation such as hoop direction 12 nos, vertical direction 12 nos. and without wrapping 3 nos. as conventional elements. BFRP hoop orientation wrapped 12 elements were splitted in to 4 sets; each sets contained 3 nos. pile elements such as 3 nos. as double wrapped elements, 3 nos as 30% preloaded of conventional element ultimate load & retrofitted with BFRP, 3 nos 60% preloaded & retrofitted and remain 3 nos. 90% preloaded & retrofitted elements. Similarly, BFRP vertically wrapped elements (12nos) also splitted for test. The conventional, BFRP double wrapped, retrofitted elements were tested in a loading frame keeping one end fixed and leaving the other free. During Lateral Loading the Deflection, Strain, Cracks were observed, Tabulated and Plotted the Stiffness, Load vs. Deflection curves. Moreover, the performances of the wrapped piles were evaluated by comparing with the conventional ones. It was observed that hoop and vertical wrapping on piles increases the respective load carrying capacity by 0.15 and 1.9 times than the conventional piles.Keywords

This paper proposes a unique standalone hybrid power generation system, applying advanced power control techniques, fed by four power sources: wind power, solar power, storage battery, and diesel engine generator, and which is not connected to a commercial power system. Considerable effort was put into the development of active-reactive power and dump power controls. The result of laboratory experiments revealed that amplitudes and phases of ac output voltage were well regulated in the proposed hybrid system. Different power sources can be interconnected anywhere on the same power line, leading to flexible system expansion. It is anticipated that this hybrid power generation system, into which natural energy is incorporated, will contribute to global environmental protection on isolated islands and in rural locations without any dependence on commercial power systems. This paper presents an intelligent method for maximizing power output from a solar system is desirable to increase efficiency by use of on MPPT algorithm, buck-boost operation and multifunctional smart solar tracking system. The proposed MPPT-algorithm is used to track MPPs because it performs precise control under rapidly changing atmospheric conditions.
A photovoltaic (PV) based dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is proposed to handle deep voltage sags, swells and outages on a low voltage residential distribution system. The PV based DVR can recover sags up to 10%, swells up to 190% of its nominal value. Otherwise, it will operate as an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) when the utility grid fails to supply. It is also designed to reduce the usage of utility grid, which is generated from nuclear and thermal power stations. PV based DVR system is comprised of PV system with low and high power DC–DC boost converter, PWM voltage source inverter, series injection transformer and semiconductor switches. Simulation results proved the capability of the proposed DVR in mitigating the voltage sag, swell and outage in a low voltage distribution system.

In computer integrated manufacturing, all major stages of product life cycle are integrated with the aid of computer. Inspection is one of the stages of product life cycle. The inspection time of the product would he minimized if the inspection process is carried out with the help of computer. Computer aided inspection is carried out in different ways and image processing technique is one among them. In this technique, real time images of the parts are compared with the template which contains the image of the standard part of accurate size. The deviations from images are measured and are shown as errors in the manufacturing process. The major difficulty encountered in the present scenario is in the manufacturing of standard part. Instead of real time images of standard parts, the datafrom computer aided design model can be used for comparison. The chain wheel currently being used for bicycles are made up of hot rolled steel and the crank is made up of forged steel, which leads to increase in cost of the product due to rise in market of steel materials. The manufacturing cost is also more because it incorporates lot of machining operations to maintain dimensional accuracy. If the chain-wheels are manufactured with plastic, the productivity can be increased as plastic molding is done for the development. Moreover, the usage of plastic reduces the weight of the component and the dimensional stability can be easily maintained. The model of the plastic chain wheel is developed for analysis. Pro/E is selected for the modeling the component because it provides an entry-level software solution that lays the perfect groundwork for effective replacement of components. Analysis of a model is carried out to determine the functional parameters like deflection, stress and strain before developing the prototype. ANSYS is a used to analyze the model created by Pro/E tool. After analysis using ANSYS, the model is also analyzed using Pro/E plastic advisor to simulate the flow pattern and enable easy analysis to study the distribution of temperature, pressure drop, fill time and other parameters for the required flow lines and conditions. In-order to increase the productivity, Injection moulding process is selected. Using the Pro/E model the mould is designed. An increased impervious area due to landuse changes is the major reason for the reduced rainwater recharge. The ground water level depletion is due to the fact that over extraction of groundwater to fulfill the demand of urbanization and industrialization. Landuse and land cover is an important component in understanding the interactions of the human activities with the environment and thus it is necessary to study changes. In this paper an attempt is made to study on the changes of landuse and land cover in Perambalur taluk over the period of 22 years from 1992 to 2013. The landuse land cover maps were prepared using temporal satellite data of LANDSAT ETM of 1992, LANDSAT ETM+ of 2001 and LANDSAT-8 OLI/TIRS of 2013 using digital and visual interpretation method based on the NRSC classification method. Ground truth observations were also performed to check the doubtful areas and also check the classification accuracy. Various landuse classes were interpreted and area calculation was attributed. Crop land area that occupied about 37.85 percent of the area in 1992 and it gradually changed in to 30.12 percent in 2001 and 30.35 per cent in 2013 and also water bodies has changed into 2.55 to 2.08 percent in (2001-2013).Fallow land, Built up land, Scrub land and Waste land also have experienced changes. Built-up lands have been increased from 1.91 percent to 4.24 percent of the total area. Proper landuse planning and management is essential for a sustainable development of area.Keywords

This paper deals with the study of vibration analysis of the rolling aircraft tyre in various frequency conditions on free and braking conditions. This paper develops mathematical model for tyre and generates dynamic equations for numerical simulations in Matlab Simulink. The experimental test facility has been developed to measure the vibration parameters while rolling the tyre with load or no load conditions. The need for finding renewable sources of energy together with the necessity of searching for new technologies to reduce the negative impact of waste accumulation has led to the possibility of using biomass as an alternate fuel, especially in electric utilities. Most of the industrial sources of pollution come from coal-fired power plants, which necessitate the need to find ways to decrease the Greenhouse gas emissions from these. Also, the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol and the tightening environmental regulations means that by the year 2008, countries would need to implement measures to meet these standards. One of the options that need to be considered is the application of cofiring technologies to coal fired power plants. In this paper, we seek to review the various cofiring technologies available and also at the methods by which these standards could be met.Keywords

Momordica cymbalaria plant belongs to Cucurbitaceae family which is widely spread in southern parts of India. Momordica cymbalaria is a well known plant species since in ancient times the use of plant parts such as ischolar_main, leaves and fruit were treated for various ailments. Recently, it is well documented that this species found to have various significant activity. This plant Momordica cymbalaria has numerous therapeutics value and antioxidant properties. Treatment with conventional drugs has increase in side effects. Hence, natural remedy with herbal drugs mainly Momordica cymbalaria possess a well known properties as hypolipidemic, hypoglycaemic, neuroprotective, cardio Protective, nephroprotective and hepatoprotective. The ITER Cryostat-the largest austenitic stainless steel vessel provides ultra-cool environment for the ITER Vacuum vessel and the Superconducting Magnets. It weighs ∼3500 t and measures up to ∼29 meters in diameter and ∼29 meters in height. Material of Construction is dual marked SS 304/304L and thickness varies from 25 mm to 200 mm.
The Design, manufacturing and inspection of the cryostat is as per ASME Section VIII Division 2 with supplementary requirement of ITER. Due to large number of penetrations and transportation limitation at Site calls for the segmentation which results in number of subassemblies. Massive amount of welding deposition is required to join these subassemblies to fabricate the segment.
ITER Specification for Cryostat demands stringent dimensional tolerance requirement (0.3% out of roundness) as compare to ASME. Other challenges are higher thickness weld joints in all position, space constraints, welding accessibility and stringent ITER vacuum requirements. Austenitic Stainless steel is prone to distortion due to low thermal conductivity and high coefficient of thermal expansion. This paper covers improvements done in the traditional welding process SAW, FCAW and to achieve dimension requirements and results are discussed. This paper also covers application NG Hot wire TIG for Site weld joints.
n order to simulate the job conditions, mockup of 40° segment on base section and 60#176; segment for lower cylinder segment was performed for Welding & NDE feasibility, Welding sequence establishment for dimensional achievement. This paper also highlights the Learnings acquired from the mockups and implementation during manufacturing.
