The present study was conducted in Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of the study was to find out the awareness of MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) among rural women. The sample consisted of 100 randomly selected beneficiaries from two Panchayat samities. Personal interview technique was used for collecting data.Findings of the study revealed that awareness of the respondents about different aspect of MGNREGA ranged between 29.66 to 86.11 MPS (mean per cent score).Keywords

The present investigation was conducted to assess the knowledge of farm women about farm broadcast ‘Kheti Ri Baata’ of state Department of Agriculture, Rajasthan. The study was conducted in four villages viz., Gadoli, Nandwel, Mavli and Thamla of randomly selected Mavli Panchayat Samiti of Udaipur district of Rajasthan. A sample of 100 farm women was selected for the present study. Personal interview method was used for data collection. Frequency, percentage and mean per cent score were used for analysis of the data. More than half of the respondents (52%) were not aware about the farm broadcast and very few (6%) were viewing the programme regularly.Keywords

Women are being increasingly seen as an important index of the social health of the nation. In spite of their active participation, they suffer from deprivation. Constant efforts are being made by the government to improve the status of rural women and paving a way towards economic empowerment, especially those living below the poverty line. One amongst such programme is SGSY, launched from 1st April 1999, covering all the aspects of self-employment such as organization of self-help groups, training, credit, technology, infrastructure and marketing. A study conducted at Girwapanchayat of Udaipur district with randomly selected 100 respondents from women SHGs formed under SGSY. The findings of the study indicated that most of the respondents gained economic benefits to high extent were increase in overall family income and get-off worries from every day employment with MWS from 1.57 to 1.61. Further mean income increased from Rs. 588.50 to Rs. 2888 which was found to be highly significant.Keywords
