A survey of Jurinea macrocephala Benth. The commercial source of dhoop, was undertaken. Data about the morphology of the plant, collection, preparation of dhoop for the market as well as some statistical data of commercial value is presented. An anatomical study of dhoop samples from different areas and of different qualities was undertaken with a view to distinguishing the quality of these products. As a result of this survey morphological and anatomical differences between the poor and good quality dhoop have been discovered.

The rhizomes and ischolar_mains of Jurinea macrocephala Benth., on extraction with organic solvent, yield a caoutchouc like material. It was found that chloroform extract gives the highest percentage of crude caoutchouc which is sticky and resilient in nature. Thus determination of chloroform extractive offers a convenient method for evaluation of dhoop samples. In the present study dhoop samples from iS different geographical area., covering the whole commercial dhoop producing zone, were found to vary in their caoutchouc , contents. The samples of dhoop collected from Tundah, Bagh and Belaj dhars of Chamba valley and Baramulla range of Kashmir valley give the highest caoutchouc content. The assay value obtained by this method have been found to be in close agreement with the commercial grades of dhoop, that is, superior grades give higher caoutchouc content and inferior grades give a low content. Microchemical and chemical evidence is a1so presented for the presence of caoutchouc in the rhizomes.- Osteotomy in Fracture Neck Femur-Still a Useful Option

Management of fracture neck femur in younger patients despite various treatments still remains a dilemma due to complications like non-union and avascular necrosis. Osteotomy has been used as a management option for primary as well as non union of fracture neck femur for long time with preservation of femoral head.
Osteotomy, though head preserving, long lasting, cost beneficial and simpler procedure, has inherent possibilities of compromised functional recovery. In current context availability of the hemi-arthroplasty, total hip replacement and other methods and their results has made the surgeon to extend its indication in relatively younger patients. These factors also have led to decrease awareness and use of the osteotomy procedures in practice. The current article discusses the problems after osteotomy, difficulties in future conversion to total hip replacement and the overall usefulness of the osteotomy procedures in the current scenario considering financial status and work demands of the patients.

Objectives: To assess the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of colposcopy in patients with abnormal cervical cytology and/or unhealthy cervix.
Methods: Pap smear screening was done in 500 sexually active women attending the Gynaecological OPD at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana. 252 women with abnormal cervical cytology or unhealthy cervix or both underwent Colposcopy. Cervical biopsy was taken in 87 cases and the results were compared and statistically analysed.
Results: A statistically significant relation was found between abnormal cytology and Grade III colposcopy. Diagnostic accuracy of colposcopy for LSIL and HSIL was 74.07 % and for squamous cell carcinoma it was 83.33%.
Conclusion: Colposcopy should be done routinely in women with abnormal cervical cytology and unhealthy cervix for timely detection of cervical pre neoplastic and neoplastic lesions.

Investigations were carried out during Kharif, 2012 at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) on, the effect of different weather parameters on seasonal incidence of girdle beetle, lepidopterous caterpillars and sucking pests was observed. In this context, the peak activity of the girdle beetle was noticed during the first week of October which was associated with 31.9°C maximum temperature, 23.9°C minimum temperature, 91 per cent morning R.H., 56 per cent evening humidity, 9.2 mm rainfall and Sunshine hours 7.6 lux. The peak activity of total caterpillar pests (S. litura, C. acuta and H. armigera) was observed during third week of August with 30.2°C maximum temperature, 25.3°C minimum temperature, morning and evening R.H. 90 per cent and 78 per cent, a rainfall of 33.2 mm, respectively and sunshine hours 3.5 lux. The peak density of total sucking pests was observed during third week of August which was associated with 28.8°C maximum temperature, 24.8°C minimum temperature, morning and evening R.H. 93 per cent and 79 per cent, rainfall 106.8 mm, respectively, and sunshine hours 1.3 lux. The correlation coefficient between the predatory population and different weather parameters viz., maximum and minimum temperatures, morning and evening R.H., rainfall and sunshine hours was worked out and found to be nonsignificant.Keywords

In the Current time every organization designs its own intranet when they work on the different distributed infrastructure and connect on one another with the help of intermediate device such as router and switch. To Implementation of infrastructure based on different issue like configuration, maintaining and different topology to design a reliable distributed system. In the paper we design a network with the help of network simulator to check the different structure of intranet and reliability to distribute the load of a network among its various edges link. To design an infrastructure we use different apparatus like switch, router, Ethernet and serial connection, PCs and use different techniques. The developed system is fragmented to form a fault tree and its reliability is assessed with the aid of fault tree analysis.

The present study was undertaken to evaluate physiological changes of Malvi bullocks during carting bullock drawn sprayer in soybean. Four healthy Malvi breed bullocks owing 6 to 8 years of age were selected for carting operation research work under Front Line Demonstration (FLD) during 2012-13-2013-14, at village Surkheda of Mandsaur (M.P.) There was a significant (P<0.01) increase in all the three physiological parameters (respiration rate, pulse rate and body temperature) as compared to their pre-work values.Keywords

The present study was undertaken to evaluate performance of bullock drawn traction sprayer in soybean crop. Malvi breed bullocks were selected for carting operation research work under front line demonstration (FLD) during 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14, at village Surkheda, Badwan and Mohammadpura of Mandsaur (M.P.) The bullock drawn traction sprayer is capable to cover 6 rows at a stretch with an average field capacity of 0.75 ha/h. The average quantity of chemical solution sprayed per hectare was found to be 394.42 l/ha.An operating pressure was 3.8 kg/cm2. The average travel speed of unit was 2.20 kmph. Field efficiency was found 74.2 per cent and labour requirement 2.66 man-hr/ha. There was a significant (P<0.05) increase in all the three physiological parameters (respiration rate, pulse rate and body temperature) as compared to their pre-work values.Keywords

This paper elaborates the application of new nature inspired algorithm; ‘Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA)’ in load frequency control of two area interconnected non-reheat thermal power plants. Two number of PID controllers have been considered in the investigated system and the parameters of the controllers have been tuned/optimized using WOA. The design problem has been formulated as the constrained optimization problem with upper and lower bounds of controller’s parameters. The integral of time multiplied absolute error (ITAE) has been taken as an objective function in the present work. The parameters of controllers (KP, KI, KD), minimum damping ratio (MDR), the values of performance indices (ITAE, ISTE, ISE, IAE), settling times and overshoots of Δf1, Δf2 and ΔPTie have also been evaluated for the system under investigation using WOA. The simulation results include the dynamic responses of Δf1, Δf2 and ΔPTie for different step load changes from 0.1p.u. to 0.5p.u in area 1 by keeping constant 0.1p.u. step load change in area 2. It has been observed that smooth and better dynamic responses with fewer oscillations, less settling times and less overshoots can be achieved for the system using WOA.Keywords
