Pension funds are an important part of private savings flows, the main supplier of capital to industry and play a large and growing role in the providing retirement incomes in countries with mature funded pension systems. Reforms which increase the emphasis on privately managed, funded pensions must get the tax treatment right. Pension do not exit to increase the national savings or to provide jobs for actuaries, tax payers, accountants, fund managers and regulators. Their purpose is to allow the elderly and disabled to retire from work with dignity. This paper sets out the options for taxing pensions, and the arguments between them.Full Text

Dietary proteins influence the labile protein stores of the animal tissues and in the process enzyme systems are not spared. Methods based on the capacity of different proteins to replenish the liver protein stores have been standardized and much ground has been covered during the past years. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) world wide have played a vital role in the socio-economic development of different countries. Their contribution has been significant on parameters such as promoting equitable growth, generating employment, judicious use of local resources, and adding to the export earnings of the country. Despite so much of their contribution , these units generally face problems when competing with foreign firms on one hand and have not integrated with in the global supply chain to derive the benefit of being a part of the global network that today exits on the other. The present research thus has two fold objectives. The objectives are; first, to identify critical challenges faced by the micro, small and medium enterprises while integrating into the global supply chain and second, to find out strategies which firms may adopt for their integration in the global supply chain. The study has been carried out on 50 respondents (managers, MSME owners) associated with firms under MSMEs in auto-component cluster of Gurgaon. A detailed questionnaire capturing the above two dimensions has been prepared after a thorough review of literature and testing the reliability and validity of the constructs used in the questionnaire. The data so obtained has been processed by using SPSS 16 version. The Statistical techniques of ANOVA and Post Hoc Tukey HSD have been used in the study.Keywords

This paper aims to answer two research questions: first, what are the different types of business networks formed by firms with the stakeholders present in a cluster and second, to explain the relationship between business networks and the performance of firms. To answer the first research question, this study uses an exploratory research design which involves survey research method where data was collected through survey questionnaire. Data for questionnaire was collected from managers and owners of firms operating in the cluster at their offices. To answer the second question, this study uses a descriptive research design which makes use of survey research method to examine the relationship among business networks and firm performance by collecting data through survey questionnaire. With respect to exploration of different types of business networks, the study has identified two types of business networks with local associations and government agencies, only one type of business network with the educational institutes and suppliers, and lastly four different types of business networks between a firm and its buyers. However, with respect to network with other stakeholders like financial institutes (banks), research institutes, and competitors, the study shows that the interaction between a firm and these stakeholders is weak. With respect to impact of business networks on firm performance, the study suggested that majority of the formed business networks are significantly and positively related to firm performance. The business networks identified in the study provide a much deeper understanding of how firms connect with its suppliers, its buyers, government agencies, and educational institutes operating in an auto-component cluster.Keywords

An investigation on blackgram (Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper) was conducted to elicit the information on superior transgressive segregants generated in respect of seed yield and its components in F3 generation of blackgram. The F3 populations were raised in Compact Family Block Design during Kharif 2016. High frequency of transgressive segregation (100%) was shown by the different progenies of crosses namely DU-1 × Palampur-93, HPBU-124 × HPBU-111, TU-17-4 × Palampur-93, DU-1 × Him Mash-1, IPU-02-33 × Palampur-93, KU-223 × HPBU-111, KU-553 × Palampur-93, HPBU-126 × HPBU-111, KU-553 × HPBU-111 and HPBU-126 × Palampur-93 for all of the studied traits. The results suggested the existence of large count of transgressive segregants in early segregating generations for almost all the traits which provides a wide scope for the meticulous selection of these genotypes and to bring in the beneficial alleles for blackgram breeding program in later generations for developing the desirable plant type.Keywords

Identification of genes responsible for complex traits has been revolutionized with the advent and association of high throughput sequencing with association studies. GWAS takes the full advantage of ancient recombination events occurred in the natural population and exploits simple association of polymorphism with the trait of interest. Further, the genetic basis of phenotypic variations is detected by rapid highthroughput sequencing, accelerating the genome assisted breeding. The high density SNPs generated through GWAS allow whole genome scanning to identify haplotype blocks correlated with desired QTLs, thereby establishing itself as a major plant breeding tool.Keywords

CRISPR and CRISPR Associated (Cas) Proteins (CRISPR-Cas) system is a vital defense system found in bacteria and archea. CRISPR activity requires a set of Cas genes, found adjacent to the CRISPR, that codes for protein essential for immune response. CRISPR system works in three stages to carry out a full immune response to invading foreign DNA i.e. acquisition, expression and interference stage. Recently Type II CRISPR-Cas9 system has also been adapted to perform genome engineering by inducing double-strand breaks (DSBs) in host DNA that can be repaired by either non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) or homology-directed repair (HDR). Although the full potential of CRISPR-Cas9 has not been harnessed so far, this technology has already brought revolutionary changes in genomic research. CRISPR-Cas9 system has great potential for both research and therapeutics; however, improvements can still be made in its speci?city, efficiency and off target effects. A total of 15 interspecific crosses involving five genotypes of urdbean (Vigna mungo) and three genotypes of ricebean (V. umbellata) were attempted to study the effects of different growth media on hybrid germination. Since the seeds obtained from the interspecific crosses did not germinate under normal soil conditions so attempts were made to grow them on various media i.e. Salt solution, Half and full strength MS medium, MS basal medium and Gamborg B5 media. Seeds were able to germinate only on the salt solution. F1 seeds obtained from cross Him Mash-1 x VRB-3 showed maximum response on salt solution with respect to radicle formation (44.60 per cent) followed by Palampur-93 x PRR-2 (38.30 per cent) & Him Mash-1 x PRR-1 (23.89 per cent).Cross Palampur-93 x PRR-2 (17.02 per cent) produced maximum number of plantlets followed by Him Mash-1 x VRB-3 (15.32 per cent). The study indicated that different kinds of post fertilization barriers such as retarded embryo & endosperm development, production of inviable & shriveled seed, inability of seed to form radicle and yellowing of plantlets are responsible for complete lethality. The crosses showing substantially high per cent of germination can be utilized for genetic improvement of urdbean.Keywords

This paper, accordingly, aims to focus on the concept covering its definition, typology and main features. The concept is discussed including its ecosystem comprising stakeholders , typology of instruments, regulatory considerations and measurement concerns. in addition, the paper delves a little on the typology of investments and financial instruments employed and some of the measurement concerns.

The research was carried out to assess the nature and magnitude of genetic variability, along with proportions of heritability and genetic advance among 14 crosses and ten parents by considering 11 yield and its related traits in blackgram. The investigation was undertaken in the Experimental Farm of Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, College of Agriculture, CSKHPKV, Palampur (H.P.) during Kharif 2018 and 2019 in Randomized Complete Block Design over three replications. Analysis of Variance revealed significant differences among the genotypes for all the traits in both the generations. High PCV and GCV was recorded for biological yield per plant (g), seed yield per plant (g) and harvest index (%). High heritability along with high genetic advance was recorded for pods per plant, biological yield per plant, seed yield per plant and harvest index in both the generations indicating the preponderance of additive gene action to develop desirable and stable genotypes during breeding programme.Keywords

The investigation was undertaken to score and identify the chlorophyll mutants in M generation of two 2 genotypes of black gram viz., HM-1 and PLP-93 during Kharif 2019. M generation was raised in Kharif 2018 1 from the seeds of both the genotypes treated with gamma-rays (100, 200, 300 and 400 Gy), EMS (0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.44%) and their possible combinations. Five types of chlorophyll mutants were detected. Most frequent chlorophyll mutant was chlorina (31) followed by albino (15), xantha (12), variegated (7) and striata (6). The frequency of mutants showed gradual increase with increase in dose/concentration of mutagens in both gamma rays and EMS, while the combination treatments showed an irregular trend with increasing dose in both the genotypes of black gram. Combined treatments produced more mutant frequency than gamma-irradiation and EMS treatments for both genotypes of black gram. Genotype HM-1 was observed more responsive to mutation changes than the genotype PLP-93.Keywords
