- Resource Analysis of Medicinal Herbs of Padder Valley in J&K

This paper highlights the richness of medicinal herbs in the Padder valley of J & K state. The phytosociological studies were undertaken by stratified random sampling and recording of the herbs with medicinal value. A total of 34 medicinal herbs belonging to 18 families were recorded. Bunium periscum was the dominant herb in all the four sites of the study area.Keywords

The objective of the paper is to compare wavelet based image compression algorithm i.e. Set partition in hierarchical tree (SPIHT) and Fractal image compression algorithm. This paper analysis important features of wavelet transform and fractal coding in compression of still images, including the extent to which the quality of image is degraded by the process of compression and decompression. The above algorithms have been successfully implemented in MATLAB. The techniques are compared by using the performance parameters PSNR and MSE. SPIHT uses wavelet sub band decomposition and imposes a quad tree structure across the sub bands in order to exploit the inter-band correlation. Fractal Coding is new method of lossy image compression. Fractal image compression (FIC) is based on the partitioned iterated function system (PIFS) which utilizes the self-similarity property in the image to achieve the purpose of compression.Keywords

Task consolidation technology in Cloud Computing is an upcoming advancement and an effective approach to decrease the energy-consumption. Cloud environment application provider’s main goal is to consume the resources perfectly and gain maximum profit. This goal leads to job scheduling as a main focus and challenging issues in cloud environment. So for this, in this paper, horizontal clustering technique is applied on job to cluster the list of jobs from the same level. The clustering of task takes place on the basis of priority of tasks. The similar property tasks cluster on one machine as to execute similar tasks collectively.Keywords

There is only one good example in the past when a state of India took the initiative to create, virtually out of nothing, a tourism Industry. This was the Haryana in 1970s, which led an imaginative drive to transform the state into a place attractive for tourists. Haryana which pioneered the concept of Highway tourism in the country now hold several feathers of Golf, Eco, Farm, MICE and Medical tourism in its cap of tourism. This paper focuses on the different innovative ideas taken by the state of Haryana for developing and improving tourism products. Thus, this paper is going to explore different forms and positioning of tourism products in Haryana along with Tourism Policy 2008 in which several innovative steps were proposed to be taken.

Aim: An experiment was designed to evaluate the role of Vitamin E and glutathione in improving the seminal parameters during hypothermic storage of liquid semen at 4°C for 72 h.Materials and Methods: Thirty-six semen ejaculates were collected by artificial vagina from 6 bucks (Beetal) during the normal reproduction season (September to November) at weekly interval. The samples were centrifuged, and the seminal plasma was removed. The sperm pellet was diluted with Tris-based extender and divided into three groups. Group T1:Control samples without antioxidants, Group T2:Samples supplemented with tocopherol at 3 mM, and Group T3:Samples supplemented with glutathione at 1 mM. The samples were evaluated for progressive motility, percent liveability, percent abnormal spermatozoa, and acrosome integrity after liquid preservation for 0, 24, 48, and 72 h. The level of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzymes, namely, glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were estimated after liquid preservation for 0 and 72 h.
Results: It was observed that, after storage of semen at 4°C up to 72 h, the progressive sperm motility, percent liveability, percent abnormal spermatozoa, and percent intact acrosomes were significantly (p˂0.05) higher in group T2 and T3 samples as compared to control. However, the level of lipid peroxidation in T2 and T3 groups was significantly (p˂0.05) lower after 72 h of incubation at 4°C. Similarly, GPx and SOD values were significantly (p˂0.05) increased in T2 and T3 groups after 72 h of storage at 4°C.
Conclusion: Thus, it can be concluded that Vitamin E and glutathione supplementation at 3 mM and 1 mM, respectively, while preserving the semen samples at 4°C helped in maintaining the seminal parameters up to 72 h and protected the spermatozoa from oxidative damage.

Crop diversification is essential for long-term farm income, rural livelihood and agricultural development in Himachal Pradesh (HP), India. The present study aims to examine the effect of climate, agricultural and socio-economic factors on crop diversification. Sirmaur district was found to be diverse, Kangra and Mandi districts were highly diversified, but Solan district was highly specialized in agriculture in HP. The fixed effects were found to be significant, indicating the role of farm-level changes in agronomic and cropping practices as a result of climate change. Crop diversification was led by population density, percentage of marginal and small farmers, cropping intensity, cultivators, marginal workers and total main workers. The important climate parameters like rainfall and minimum temperature, as well as other factors such as irrigation intensity and food crop productivity, had a negative impact on crop diversification, implying crop specializationKeywords
